Analysis of the Haiku structure

a slight turbulence
as the cormorant dives
autumn's end

un léger remous
comme le cormoran plonge
fin d'automne

Commentaire.

Description level: 2-strs - Organization, surface structures

* culturel - Use of external cultural reference.
The haiku is based on an external cultural element, well known by the reader. There is a sharing of an environment (place, situation...) or cultural element (music, painting...) that will seek memories or sensations in the memory and experience of the reader. This device saves a lot of space, nothing else is needed, the effect is achieved by the reader's contribution.

A mechanism similar to the geographic element (geo) that assumes that the reader is familiar with the geographic environment referred to by the author.

Effects: liavec - Binding to the reader's experience.

At the level: 2-prof - Deep level
Deep and non explicit structures, active objects of the unconscious.

Description level: 5-strp - Deep structure (schemas, patterns, cultural, associations, similarities)

* allusion - Allusion to something known by the reader.
This technique refers to something that is supposed to be known to the reader. This type of haiku only works for the reader who understands the allusion. It is often a cultural or geographical element or an environment shared between the author and the reader. The reference adds a note of complicity in the speech.

It can also be illustrated in jargon (specialized languages shared by a community).

Particular cases: the cultural (culturel) or geographic (geo) element.

ex: Liberty Market: a chain of stores in the USA.
ex: a movie, a book, a meal, a local feast.

Effects: resmem - Resonance in memory.
